Installation does not start / proceed after a message is displayed

When you install the MP drivers or application software using the prepackaged CD-ROM, an error message or a confirmation message may be displayed before or during installation.
If it is displayed, follow the directions on the screen to continue the installation.

Here, the following messages or phenomena are explained.
(Window 1) The message "To install the software, you must log on as a Administrators group." is displayed. (Windows)
(Window 2) The message "Login with the administrator account to start this software." is displayed. (Mac OS X)
(Phenomenon 3) Although the Setup CD-ROM is inserted into the CD-ROM, the installation does not start automatically (Windows)
(Phenomenon 4) Although the Setup CD-ROM is inserted into the CD-ROM, the CD-ROM folder does not open (Mac OS X)
(Window 5) The Change Installation Location window is displayed. (Windows)
(Window 6) The message "Canon Utilities Easy-LayoutPrint is installed. Do you want to replace it with Canon Utilities Easy-PhotoPrint EX?" is displayed.
(Window 7) In windows, the message "A new version of ***** is already installed. The installation will be canceled." is displayed. In Mac OS X, the message "The following software has already been installed." is displayed.



(Window 1)
The message "To install the software, you must log on as a Administrators group." is displayed. (Windows)


Cause and solution 1:
You cannot install new application software with the user name currently logging in to Windows.
To install new application software, it is necessary to register the user name currently logging in to Windows for the Administrators group.
So, register the user name currently logging in to Windows for the Administrators group, or log in to Windows with the user name registered at the Administrators group.



(Window 2)
The message "Login with the administrator account to start this software." is displayed. (Mac OS X)


Cause and solution 2:
You cannot install new application software with the user name currently logging in to Mac OS X.
To install new application software, it is necessary to log in to Mac OX with the Administrator account.
Register the user name currently logging in to Mac OS X for the Administrator, or re-log with Mac OS X through the Administrators account.



(Phenomenon 3)
Although the Setup CD-ROM is inserted into the CD-ROM, the installation does not start automatically (Windows)

Cause and solution 3:
One of the following reasons could be the cause of the problem.

- The computer may not be set to run the CD-ROM automatically.
In such a case, click start and go to My Computer, then double-click the CD-ROM icon.

- The CD-ROM drive you use may be out of order.
If you have another CD-ROM drive, use it instead. If the installation starts, the former CD-ROM drive is out of order. If the installation does not start, the Setup CD-ROM is faulty. Download the MP drivers from the Canon's website.



(Phenomenon 4)
Although the Setup CD-ROM is inserted into the CD-ROM, the CD-ROM folder does not open (Mac OS X)

Cause and solution 4:
Double-click the CANON_IJ icon displayed on the desktop.




(Window 5)
The message "Change Installation Location" is displayed. (Windows)
The image below shows Easy-PhotoPrint EX.


Cause and solution 5:
Depending on the application software, the installation location can be changed at the installation.

If you do not need to change the location, click Install.
If you want to change the installation location, click Browse, select the folder in which the application is installed, then click Install.

Memo:
Even when multiple application software is selected, only one installation location can be selected.



(Window 6)
The message "Canon Utilities Easy-LayoutPrint is installed. Do you want to replace it with Canon Utilities Easy-PhotoPrint EX?" is displayed.


Cause and solution 6:
If Easy-PhotoPrint EX is installed on a computer that already has Easy-LayoutPrint installed, Easy-LayoutPrint will be replaced by Easy-PhotoPrint EX.
If you continue the installation, click Yes.
If you continue to use the old version of the application software, click No.



(Window 7)
In windows, the message "A new version of ***** is already installed. The installation will be canceled." is displayed. In Mac OS X, the message "The following software has already been installed." is displayed.
(***** above is the MP drivers or the application name.)
The window below shows Easy-PhotoPrint EX.


Cause and solution 7:
The same or newer version of the application software to be installed has already been installed.
As you do not have to install any more, the installation will be cancelled.

Confirm the displayed message and click OK.

Memo:
Only the application software being installed now is cancelled.
After that, installing other application software will be continue.
