Solution
You can record audio using the built-in stereo microphone or an external microphone connected to the MIC terminal. When you are recording AVCHD movies and the video quality is set to 24 Mbps, you can enjoy two-channel linear PCM audio recording with a sampling frequency of 48 kHz.
Audio is not recorded during interval recording and slow/fast motion.

Built-in Microphone
Using the optional WM-V1 Wireless Microphone, you can reliably record sound even when recording subjects at a distance exceeding the practical range of the built-in microphone. For details on connecting and using the WM-V1, refer to the instruction manual supplied with the microphone.
You can also use commercially available condenser microphones with their own power supply. You can connect almost any stereo microphone with a φ3.5 mm plug but audio recording levels may vary.
1. Connect the external microphone to the MIC terminal.
NOTE
- An external microphone may pick up noise while Wi-Fi functions are in use. Keep a distance between the camcorder and microphone.
- When referring to the instruction manual of the WM-V1, note that the procedure written for manually adjusting the audio recording level does not apply to this camcorder.
